We are looking for a Superstar Retail/Gallery Manager to join our friendly team. This position is part time - ( approx up to 30 hours ) and would suit someone who can ideally work Monday - Thursday.

You will be working closely with the Gallery owner to plan and run the Gallery and Design Store to it’s best ability. Fantastic customer service is top priority and willing to put your hand to anything is a must.

Retail Gallery Manager Position:

Job Hours - 25-30 hours per week ( this may alter during Exhibition season.)

Job Description:

  • Manage day-to-day operations and smooth running of the Design Store & Art Gallery.

  • Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation for wonderful customer service.

  • Have creative flair and the ability to display work to their best effect.

  • Be prepared to remove and hang Artworks.

  • Be responsible for ordering products for the Design store and working to a monthly budget.

  • Maintain ongoing promotion and advertising of the Gallery via online sales channels such as the website & instagram.

  • Help plan, organise, present and market exhibitions and events.

  • Work closely with individual artists, develop relationships with new artists and extend relationships with existing artists.

  • Promote exhibitions and work by individual artists.

  • Arrange transportation of work to and from the Gallery, both nationally and internationally.

  • Extend client lists & notify clients of particular works and exhibitions, according to their interests.

  • Keep up to date with industry developments and market trends

  • Overseeing pricing and inventory control.

  • Look after the general administration, budgeting, artist accounts and the Gallery staff roster.

  • Meet sales targets.

  • Preparing store and advertising displays.

 

Skills:
  • Retail Management experience essential. Experience in an Art Gallery or Design Store an advantage.

  • Qualification & background in Art preferable.

  • Excellent customer service.

  • Excellent organisational ability.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • The ability and confidence to deal with a range of people.

  • Sales ability and commercial awareness

  • Experience of accounting, financial negotiating, and inventory control.

  • A flexible and practical approach

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Creative flair.

  • Administrative and strong IT skills.

  • A degree of physical stamina for organising and setting up exhibitions.

  • Experience of working with Shopify POS and website is beneficial but full training will be given to the right person.

  • Experience with Mailchimp marketing tool an advantage.

  • Managing a budget, and maintaining statistical and financial records.

  • Planning, promoting, and marketing the business.

  • Be adept at problem solving, and handling unusual circumstances.
