Richard Voss
Richard Voss was born in Surrey, England in 1971, and was inspired to paint at a young age by the works of his artist relatives Caroline Beatrice Richardson (1873-1959) and John Booth Richardson (1838-1923).
Richard trained as an architect and has practised in Germany, the UK and New Zealand.
He paints primarily landscapes and seascapes and uses vivid colour and light in his work to search for a certain genius loci (spirit of place). Richard paints with acrylics, gouache and watercolour, as well as working extensively with traditional analogue photography.
