'Throughout childhood I was always busy creating something with my hands. It wasn’t however until my late 40’s while living in Oman, a friend asked me to accompany her to a drawing class. That was a pivotal moment for me, and the beginning of my ongoing obsession with painting.
I have since attended a few classes and workshops but am mainly self- taught. My artistic interest has always been florals, my reference material being from our beautiful garden we created in Auckland over many years. I love that flowers are still beautiful and bring joy at all stages of the life cycle. I hope to bring rest, peace, and pleasure to the viewer through the use of oils as my medium, often with bold colour and strong contrasts of light and shade.
A recent move to beautiful Kinloch on the shores of Lake Taupo provides endless inspiration and natural beauty. My plan is to devote myself to further developing my art practice and technical skill.'
