Kay Van Dyk

Kay initially trained as an early childhood worker and spent several years working in that field. In 1994, while living in London, Kay attended the London Guildhall University, learning silversmithing and jewellery. Upon her return to NZ she enrolled in the Visual Arts programme at Nelson Polytech from which she graduated (with distinction) in 1998.

Kay has exhibited throughout New Zealand in both solo and group shows, and in Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Her work traverses between wearable production jewellery and conceptually-based jewellery, objects and mixed media installation. Kay is a member of Community Jewellery Projects, a group of object makers who meet to share ideas.
