Mizu Earrings

Handmade by Kami & Kindred in Nelson.

‘Mizu’, Japanese for water symbolises the shape of these earrings. They are hand whittled to be thinner at the edges and thicker in the centre.

Made from a cream stoneware and finished with a raw Hakeme glaze, which is matt rather than gloss, attached to a 100% sterling silver crescent moon hoop shaped by hand.

Hakeme is a traditional Japanese method of raw glazing ceramics, emphasising visible brush strokes, made with handmade rough straw brushes.
