Sally Barron is an artist and designer living and teaching in Nelson.
Sally works mainly in oils painting both figure and landscape, inspired by the local scenery and stories/artists/memories from the past and future.
Sally has had a series of exhibitions with Red Gallery over the past few years, and we are proud to be hosting her current exhibition 'Blue Light.' With this current series of work, Sally has taken inspiration from childhood memories and remote places where 'Blue Light' features strongly.
"Blue is perhaps the most significant colour of our natural earth; it reflects back to us what has been altered. Will we ever see clearly? Or did we ever?"
Sally has trained extensively and holds a BA Hons Fine and Decorative Arts Leeds University (4 years).
An MA Hons Interior Design Royal College of Art, London (2 years) and,
A Certificate in Tertiary Education / Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (1 year).
