Sally Barron

Sally Barron is an artist and designer living and teaching in Nelson.

Sally works mainly in oils painting both figure and landscape, inspired by the local scenery and stories/artists/memories from the past and future.

Her 2014 exhibition focussed on paintings about the sea, rivers and land from Golden Bay, the Maitai River and Nelson hills, as well as more intimate garden views. While her latest exhibition walks the line between figurative and abstract.

"I like the way 'all of nature talks to me, if I could just figure out what it was trying to tell me'."

Sally has trained extensively and holds a BA Hons Fine and Decorative Arts Leeds University (4 years).

An MA Hons Interior Design Royal College of Art, London (2 years) and,

A Certificate in Tertiary Education / Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (1 year).

Sally had a successful exhibition at RED Gallery in September 2014 and we are thrilled to be hosting her latest series of work at RED this March 2015.
