Tony Harrington was born and raised in the Hawkes Bay. Tony has a Bachelor of Visual Art & Design majoring in 3D & furniture Design, and over the last 10 years has been a full time artist.

Using recycled building materials and native timbers as his base, Tony repurposes and transforms the pieces by cutting and shaping them into forms, then staining and painting the surface. Bright paint contrasts against dark colours, making each artwork an eye catching piece. The Huia, a sacred taonga of Aotearoa is reimagined by Tony with bright, fluro patterned wings. Tony’s art practice is influenced by the cultural landscape of Aotearoa New Zealand.
